Convert the structure that exists
## Work followed by ### Research becomes Work / Research, rather than two folders next to each other. Equal headings remain separate folders, and the same URL in different folders is kept.
It cannot restore discarded data
The new Arc export can omit tab titles, identifiers, pinned/Today status and split views. Arcpath does not recover those or import history, passwords, cookies or full browser sessions. A bare URL is also its bookmark title; you can rename it later.
Check the document heading
By default, the first # heading is treated as a document title. If it names a Space or folder you want, keep it with the checkbox. The tool follows headings as written; it does not guess which headings are Spaces.
Read locally, download locally
Conversion happens in this tab. The tool does not upload, store or visit your links. Optional Cloudflare page-visit and performance measurement is off until you allow it. It never receives your exported links or file contents from this tool. Your choice is saved in this browser; use Measurement choices below to change it. DNT, GPC and self-test visits disable measurement. There are no advertising scripts. The host still handles ordinary page requests. Only HTTP and HTTPS links without embedded credentials are included; skipped lines are reported. Keep private exports out of public feedback threads.
From Arc export to browser bookmarks
- Export from Arc. Use Arc’s current Export Data action. Its
Arc Data Export.mdis a Markdown list, rather than a browser bookmarks HTML file. Official export help ↗ - Preview here. Open or paste the file. Check nested folders and skipped lines; download only after the preview looks right.
- Import on desktop. Choose the HTML bookmark import in your destination browser and select
arcpath-bookmarks.html. This is a bookmark transfer, not a full Arc migration. Chrome import help ↗
Format notes and verification limits
This first version follows the heading-and-bare-link structure described in a public Arc 1.170 macOS observation. That report covers one untitled Space and two folder levels. It is a third-party observation, not our own Arc test. Our example is synthetic and uses reserved example domains.
We have not tested a real Windows or multi-Space Arc export, or completed an import in a destination browser. Preview your own structure carefully. No affiliation with Arc or The Browser Company. Built with AI assistance and source review. Updated October 25, 2026.
Found a missing folder? Send a small invented example showing the headings you expected, without real links or names: Format feedback on X.
